If the U.S. boycotted all tourism to Mexico would illegal immigration increase in the U.S.?

We all know that the drug cartels in Mexico are making life a living hell for Mexican nationals and American tourists in Mexico. What I'm wondering is if U.S. citizens stop taking vacations to Mexico, would the economic impact on Mexico cause more illegal immigration from Mexico to the U.S. ?
