Does anyone else miss the USSR as our primary enemy?

Certainly that is an interesting way to interpret things. I believe that conflict leads to some of the best arts and entertainment. However, looking at that from a Humanitarian standpoint we are becoming less violent and more united. Although technically, this is literally just westernizing the world, but I guess you take after your own views. Also this actually might lead to something better, because we develop new military technology whether or not it comes from a large war or small war.
